One Firm, For Life
Brooke Bird is an associate attorney at Riddle & Hanna, PLC, focusing exclusively on family law. With a genuine commitment to guiding clients through the complexities of family-related legal matters, she brings both a deep understanding of the law and a compassionate approach to every case.
At William & Mary Law School, Brooke made a significant impact by representing victims of domestic violence through the Domestic Violence Clinic. This hands-on experience, combined with her role as Articles Editor for the William & Mary Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice, shaped her approach to legal practice, blending rigorous legal analysis with a strong commitment to social justice.
Brooke's proactive involvement in various legal organizations further highlights her dedication to the field. She served as Fundraising Co-chair for the Family and Education Law Society. She also contributed to the Public Service Fund as a Business Manager on the Executive Board and supported fellow lawyers as a Wellness Ambassador for Lawyers Helping Lawyers.
An early determination to pursue a career in law led Brooke to complete her undergraduate studies at Salisbury University in just 2.5 years, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science. She demonstrated leadership and initiative as a Senator in the Student Government Association and organized a successful fundraiser that raised over $10,000 for a Pre-K program.
Before joining Riddle & Hanna, PLC, Brooke gained valuable hands-on experience as a Law Clerk at Akers & Cleator Law Group PLLC, where she managed family law cases from start to finish and assisted in trial preparations. She also worked as a Paralegal at Murov & Kidwell and interned with the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, providing essential support in family law matters through detailed legal research and document preparation.
Brooke lives in Newport News with her husband and their two out-of-this-world cats, Luna and Nova. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys weightlifting, engaging in online games, and spending quality time with friends and family.
