Newport News attorney Jeff Riddle's primary practice areas include civil litigation, wills and trusts, business matters, contract enforcement and real estate disputes. Jeff is a partner with Riddle & Hanna, PLC and has served clients on the peninsula for over 10 years. He is a licensed Patent Attorney and is admitted to practice in both Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Jeff’s passion is learning and his skill is problem solving. These characteristics serve his clients well, along with the wealth of real-world experience be brings to his practice of law. He is an electrical engineer from the Virginia Military Institute with an MBA from the College of William and Mary. He served his country in the Army as an Air Defense Artillery officer at Fort Bliss, Texas. After working for Newport News Shipbuilding in combat systems engineering, finance and internal auditing, he began his entrepreneurial pursuits. Jeff built, managed and sold several businesses, expanding his breadth of knowledge and expertise. One of these companies sold to a Fortune 1000 company allowing Jeff to further his education and pursue investment opportunities. During this time Jeff became a licensed Virginia commercial waterman, obtaining the first aquaculture business license in the City of Virginia Beach. He is also a registered real estate agent which helped him with his personal real estate investments. Jeff then went on to become an ASE certified master auto mechanic to fix his collection of antique automobiles.
Jeff joined the legal profession in 2009 after receiving his law degree from the College of William and Mary. He initially worked for a large firm in Virginia Beach where he specialized in Mergers and Acquisitions. He later set up his own practice in a smaller firm, which was a great fit for his entrepreneurial personality. Jeff’s broad background gives his clients a unique perspective in solving their legal issues. He has two published opinions in the Virginia Court of Appeals.
Jeff lives in Virginia Beach with his wife Andrea and their faithful Goldendoodle “Hank.” Their two daughters have graduated college and are making their own mark in the world.
